Facts about Maltese

The Maltese is one of the oldest decorative dog breeds. The earliest mentions of the snow white dogs date back to the 8th century B.C.

Description

The Maltese were the favorites of French monarchs, glamorous beauties that seem to have been made to accept universal adoration and love. Even in the harshest times for dogs, these snow-white fluffsters were spoiled rotten and pampered, which couldn't but reflect on their personality. Deprived of the need to compete for a bowl of soup, the Maltese developed into carefree aristocrats. Never-depressed and a little fussy dogs became real therapists who can cure the most lingering depression. It's understandable: to find another breed that seems to be in a state of light euphoria 24/7 is simply impossible. Silky-coated lively dogs were considered a luxury item for many years. And during the Crusades, brave knights returned home not only with victory but also with these snow-white fluffsters. There is an important condition for a Maltese to participate in the show: the coat must be long and straight like a wedding veil.
