Facts about Japanese Chin

There are several versions about the origin of the Japanese Chin dogs. According to one of them, 3000 years ago the descendant of a Tibetan Spaniel was brought to Japan as a gift to the emperor from China. Later at court, only those pets were allowed to breed that did not disturb the lord and caused only positive emotions.

Description

The Japanese Chins, animated treasures of Japanese and Chinese emperors, have long won the hearts of indoor decorative dog fans around the world. They continue to captivate dog breeders with their grace and cuteness. Their delicate, fragile beauty combined with intelligence, comprehension, delicacy, sincere loyalty, and love for humans show an amazing symbiosis, evoking in people a sense of beauty and a noble desire to take care of our lesser brothers. In the imperial palace, each Chin had a personal servant. The dogs slept only on silk cushions and ate exquisite food. Common people were forbidden, under penalty of death, to own these dogs. This was the privilege of the royal dynasty and the nobility.
