Facts about Airedale Terrier

The name Airedale Terrier comes from the name of the place of the breed’s origin - the valley of the river Aire in Yorkshire, England. Two breeds were crossbred there: the Welsh Terrier and the Otterhound.

Description

The Airedel Terriers are fun-loving and energetic dogs harmoniously combining such character traits as independence, excitement and boundless loyalty to the owner. With these bearded terriers, both authoritarianism and excessive liberality won't do. They are ready to recognize the authority of a man only if they respect their wishes and don't allow themselves to be manipulated. If the stars are aligned and you stick to this tactic, the Airedale Terrier is 100% your pet. In 1864, these dogs for the first time participated in the exhibition, and in 1886, the breed was officially registered.
